What I want from Apple

The reviews for the Mac Book Air are starting to hit the street and although most of them are positive they also point out the MBA's serious shortcomings that will limit sales and make it a niche item. To many Apple and Mac people, however, feel that Apple can do no wrong and that's too bad because in the business world nothing lasts forever and that includes Apple's position as a premiere innovator. Why Apple stock fell

Apple stock took a beating yesterday despite the best quarter in the companies history. Why? Well if you read between the lines there are not going to be any major new products this year from Apple and there will be no new software for OSX. Leopard is it for 2008 although there might be updated patches with minor improvements. This is what happens when you become more of a media company then a computer company and should send up a warning flag to all Mac users. Read More...

Web 2.0 is great as a place to get all kinds of information and the latest entry is a website called Page Flakes. Like iGoogle Page Flakes is a portal page that allows you to layout the page and customize it with the feeds that are important to you. There are a lot to chose from and you can even integrate Page Flakes with your Gmail account. I have categories for Apple products, New York Jets and my local weather. It loads quickly and there are a lot of themes to customize the look the feel. Read More...

Apple misses the mark

In the new economy consumers have more power then ever. There is no such thing as brand loyalty anymore..either you continue to take it up a level or we'll move to your competitors products and leave you in the dust. There are some things which disturb me about Apple's direction including Steve Jobs who now is such a "rock star" that he has little regard for the the people who have made Apple great. Read More...
