New RSS Reader-Times

screenshot_02
I currently use Net News Wire as my RSS reader and why not? It's now free and does the job really well, especially when I am looking at my Mac updates feed. RSS readers are great because they allow you to quickly read through the headlines of stories and click on the ones that interest YOU so I was a bit surprised when I saw a new RSS reader that has a user interface similar to a Newspaper. It's called Times and in my test it's not bad but at $30 I think I'll stick with Net News Wire for now. Read More...

Is Apple care or .Mac worth the money?

screenshot_01
I have two iMac's and signed up for Apple Care for both of them at a cost of $159.00. After some problems with Leopard and my iMac I have to say that for the most part Apple Care is not worth the money. The same can be said for a .Mac account which for a fee allows you get a Mac eMail address, publish your website on the Web and store back up files. However with more and more inexpensive and free services appearing unless Apple adds more value to .mac a lot of people may forgo this service. Read More...

Free Stuff you should have

screenshot_02
One of the great features of OSX is the menu bar. A very quick glance at the top menu bar can give you a snapshot of your system, the weather, the date and time among other features. As much as I like apps for the menu bar I don't want to spend money to add them because they are "nice to have" and not a necessity. Here are some of my favorites courtesy of surfbits... Read More...
