Apple does a solid

images-1
Apple did Mobile Me customers a big favor when it extended, free of charge, its Mobile Me service for one month to make up for the fiasco customers encountered on launch. While this is a small token from a cash rich company it is still a nice way to say “we’re sorry and we value our customers”. However Apple still has to work out some logistic problems as they transform from a small user base to a large customer base. Read More...

Another 2 million Mac's sold

images
Another 2 million Mac’s sold and if you go to any Apple store there is no shortage of people looking into Mac’s. Microsoft meanwhile has responded with a lame advertising campaign to try and get people to upgrade to Vista (talk about beating a dead horse!). In three days the new iPhone goes on sales and even if 1% of people who purchase an iPhone get Mac’s the bump in sales will be huge. How does Apple do this? By simply providing a great product with great execution. Read More...

Apple lowers price of Mac Book Air

screenshot_01
With the price of NAND flash memory continuing its steady sequential decline, Apple Inc. this month cut the price of its Solid State Drive (SSD)-equipped MacBook Air by half a grand. The key question is this price move a result of lower costs or lower demand. I have said all along that the MBA was overpriced and under-featured for the money but all Apple has said is that it is “selling well”. Read More...

Will Apple stock come back to $200?

images-2
What have you done for me lately? That is what Wall Street seems to want to know when evaluating stocks. When Apple recently announced the best quarter ever the stock tanked because the street felt that since this was the best quarter that Apple in no way could top expectations in a down economy. Well anyone that bets against Apple doesn't know Mr Jobs very well at all. Read More...

What I want from Apple

images
The reviews for the Mac Book Air are starting to hit the street and although most of them are positive they also point out the MBA's serious shortcomings that will limit sales and make it a niche item. To many Apple and Mac people, however, feel that Apple can do no wrong and that's too bad because in the business world nothing lasts forever and that includes Apple's position as a premiere innovator. Here are some products that I would like to see from Apple in the coming year(s). Read More...

Why Apple stock fell

Apple stock took a beating yesterday despite the best quarter in the companies history. Why? Well if you read between the lines there are not going to be any major new products this year from Apple and there will be no new software for OSX. Leopard is it for 2008 although there might be updated patches with minor improvements. This is what happens when you become more of a media company then a computer company and should send up a warning flag to all Mac users. Read More...

Apple misses the mark

In the new economy consumers have more power then ever. There is no such thing as brand loyalty anymore..either you continue to take it up a level or we'll move to your competitors products and leave you in the dust. There are some things which disturb me about Apple's direction including Steve Jobs who now is such a "rock star" that he has little regard for the the people who have made Apple great. Read More...

Form vs. functionality

Well the review for the Mac Book Air are coming in and they should raise a lot of eyebrows. It seems that not only are the new Mac Book Air's slow but they only have three jacks and no ethernet jack. That's right ! You need to purchase a separate adopter to connect to the Internet. So you get a great looking Mac laptop but with a slow processor and limited hard drive and a list of extras that could cost you a lot of money. So who is going to purchase the new Mac Book Air? Macworld: A major dissappointment

product-air
Well, this is what happens when you deliver new exciting products at the end of the year. MacWorld was a major letdown and huge disappointment for a lot of people including this writer. The new MacBook airs are nice but are way overpriced for what they offer and I believe that after the early adopters get theirs they are going to sit on Apple store shelves. I don't care about Apple TV or wireless backup so overall for me Macworld was a non-event. Read More...

What I expect at Macworld

images-1
Macworld is less then a week away and the rumors are flying. However if you cut through the hype and the crap it's going to be a home-hum nonevent for most Mac users. I expect Apple to launch a new ultra-thin notebook, a 16GB iPhone, upgraded processors for iMac's and Macpro's, and announce a deal to "rent" movies through iTunes and that's it. I already have an iPhone so a 16Gb model is not in my plans and I use a desktop rather than a laptop so the biggest news for me is going to be the introduction of Office 2008. Read More...

Apple Developer Connection

screenshot_02
Apple for years has offered access to their beta code through the Apple Developer Connection but unless you really plan on developing code this is just not worth the money. I was an Apple Developer and downloaded several versions of the Leopard beta but was very disappointed with their ADC tech help and access to Leopard when it was finally released. Read More...

Welcome to Apple Mac Stuff

Welcome to Apple Mac Stuff.com ! I have been an Apple enthusiast for the last 5 years and I am writing this BLOG with a program called Rapid Weaver which is the best program for getting on the Web quickly with a profession looking site. The goal of this website is simple; I want to share some of the best programs, hardware and Internet sites for the Mac that I have found over my last five years. I am always downloading new programs and trying them out. Some are very good and some have more bugs than a garbage dump. Read More...
