How
often are users receiving true 3G for their data
transmission speed with the iPhone 3G? After all,
Apple and AT&T promote the phone as being "twice
as fast" as its predecessor. Not often enough,
apparently. Most users don't seem to be experiencing
the near Wi-Fi-like performance that the 3G spec
promises. Read More...

I
had the chance to give my iPhone a great field test
this week when I traveled to New York and have to
say, in summary, IF the iPhone had performed the way
Apple wanted it to perform it would have been great.
Unfortunately it did not and until these problems are
corrected the iPhone promise remains great but it
fails to live up to the hype. Read

Well it seems that
after Apple has reportedly fixed Mobile Me another
problem has surfaced. People with the new 3G iPhone
are reporting cracks in the back case. Most of the
cracks are very small but enough to drive consumers
back into retailers to ask for a replacement phone.
Regardless of how you feel about Apple and their
products this is getting serious folks...

Well after paying a
visit to the Genius bar (call Apple care was all they
recommended) and spending a half hour on the phone
with Apple Care (get tech support from Mobile me) I
learned something astonishing today: you can only
have one push account per Mobile Me/.Mac account !
That’s right if you have more than one eMail address
in your account then you cannot get push eMail for
eMail only accounts. Why do I feel like i have just
been robbed? Read

For those consumers
who wanted to wait for the lines to subside before
purchasing an iPhone the wait is going to be a long
one as 21 states report being sold out of iPhones.
Frankly in today’s small global market there is no
excuse for making potential customers wait and one
has to wonder if this is in fact a planned shortage
or if Apple’s forecasting and logisitics is really
that bad.

So
after all the speculation and wondering it is now
being reported that in store activation of the iPhone
is needed after all. This means long lines and a lot
of very pissed off people waiting in lines in the
dead of summer as well as Apple store employees who
may find themselved working through lunch &
dinner hours to complete transactions. How could
Apple agree to this? Read

What is Apple going
to do on July 11th when people line up outside Apple
stores to purchase the new iPhone? This time it’s
different as the phone has to be activated at the
store so each purchase could take 5, 10 or 15 minutes
to complete. This means in addition to long lines hot
temperatures for people waiting in line in summer. It
could get ugly folks. Read

I
know a lot of people want the new iPhone but starting
to wait on line now and checking imports?
Please...get a life ! Apple has done a masterful job
of creating buzz around the upcoming iPhone release
on June 9th. By the time that day gets here people
will be at a fever pitch to get their hands on the
new iPhone. However it looks like this time there
will be no shortages of iPhones so those who can't
wait to part with their cash won't have to worry
about when and where they purchase their
phones. Read

I
have had my iPhone for quite awhile now but have not
been doing that much traveling where I could take
advantage of its features. Well this week on a trip
to Boston and Sonoma I got a chance to put the iPhone
through it's paces and here are the results of my
usability weekend. Read

The excitement is
really building for the new iPhone which is believed
to be available sometime in June. Speculation has
circulated that it will could be a whole new design
with a flip and a keyboard but frankly I doubt that.
One thing is for certain, the early adapters who went
out and bought an iPhone when it first came out are
about to see their iPhones become outdated.
